Morning
In Latin America for work for 10 days, at the Colombian office at the moment, but fly to Lima Sunday for 3 days for a 2 hour Client meeting, anyone been or know anyone there who could give me an idea of what to do/where to go ? Probably the only time I will ever visit, so want to make the most of the 3 days and all Peru has to offer ! Cheers

A lot depends on how good your Spanish is or if you're in company. Peruvians are very proud of their country and culture - especially the food (and quite rightly). If you get any invites out then obviously take them as a local's the best to show you around. The old centre is lovely in parts but then you do a left and you're in some right shithole. Stick to Miraflores/San Isidro at night - it's touristy and expensive but if your on your own it's safer. I think Pizza Alley has lost a bit of it's seediness nowadays - it's just off Parque Kennedy in Miraflores - and is now only really good for eating pizza. Your more likely to get propositioned in the Parque. Best to ignore the Old Bill's clumsy attempts to sell you any gear. Barranco is nice and 'arty' with some good clubs and bars. Keep your wits about you and you'll be alright. As for the guinea pig (cuy) debate, it is one of the staples up in the mountains - a full Peruvian breakfast comes with half a 'cuy' on top, but you're are more likely to see Limenos tucking into cebiche (raw seafood marinated in limón and lime served with sweet potato and corn on the cob) but again it depends where you are. (So on that I'm no fucking help really!) Anticuchos are the way to go (beef kebabs). Pity you're not heading north 'cos the food's even better up here.

My lad went, Cusco? Went to the inca trails and that city up in the mountains, said it was awesome, also got one/some of the best hotels in the world , The Belmond Palacio Nazarenas

Don't be daft Turan. Guinea pig in poor rural areas of the andes is a staple and is sold in eateries throughout the region on a daily basis.
I've eaten it in lima too it isn't difficult to find.

Lima is a great town. Visit the franciscan monastery in the old town and do the tour of the crypt. In fact just do a wander of the old town - its the best preserved one ive ever seen. Then theres the modern side of town leading upto the malecon where you can look aver the pacific while people parasail over the cliffs. And then go down pizza alley for a beer, a pizza and whatever else takes your fancy.
Whatever you do, eat as well and as often as you can. Peru has two distinct cuisines; the lowland seafood cerviche and the highland red meat based stews. Both are fucking superb. Massively underrated food place, Peru.
